Job summary

Western Valley Meat Company in Fresno, CA is seeking team members for our Fabrication General Production Departments to perform a variety of roles in the initial step of our meat processing facility. Starting wage is $17.50 for the 90 day probationary period, with pay increases to $19.35–$24.50 as duties and seniority apply.

Positions include skinning, trimming, sorting, hanging and inspection of carcasses; loading product into machines, packaging and boxing; and use of knives, hooks, and other

Qualifications

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, crouch and twist while using hands and arms to do simple gripping and grasping.
• Ability to perform physical activities such as lifting, pushing, pulling or carrying objects.
• Position requires the use of knives and hooks.
• Cold environment. Average temperature ranges from 40-49 degrees.
• Ability to follow general workplace safety procedures and policies while wearing required personal protective equipment.

Responsibilities

• Skinning, trimming, sorting, hanging and inspecting carcasses and other edible offal products.
• Loading product into machines, packaging, boxing, labeling and scaling of product.
• Using tools and equipment such as knives, scissors, saws, scales and other specialized manufacturing equipment.
• Work schedules range from 5:45am to 6:15am depending on job.
• Starting hourly wage is $17.50 for the 90 day probationary period; pay goes up to $19.35-$24.50.
