Job summary

Western Valley Meat Company in Fresno, CA is seeking team members for Harvest General Production to perform a variety of roles in the initial stage of our meat processing facility.

Positions require standing, lifting, and following safety procedures; you will work in a hot, humid environment and wear required PPE. Probation pay is $17.50 per hour for 90 days, with subsequent rates ranging from $19.35 to $24.50 per hour depending on the role.

Responsibilities

We produce high quality meat items that are sold at grocery stores and restaurants in both the US and around the world.We are adding team members to our Harvest General Production Departments to perform a variety of roles and tasks in the initial step of the meat processing facility. The Harvest team sets the high standard for the cleanliness and safety of the products we produce.Tasks used to accomplish our goal can include, but are not limited to the following:Position DescriptionUsing tools and equipment such as knives, scissors, saws, scales and other specialized manufacturing equipmentSkinning. Trimming, Sorting, Hanging and Inspection of Carcasses and other edible offal products; etc.Loading Product into machines, packaging, and boxing, labeling and scaling of product.Work Schedule Start times range from 7am to 830am depending on specific role.Pay Rate is $17.50 for the 90 day probationary periodPay ranges from $19.35 to $24.50 depending on job awarded at time of hire.Routine tasks include, but are not limited to, performing the following:Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, crouch and twist while using hands and arms to do simple gripping and grasping.Ability to perform physical activities such as lifting, pushing, pulling or carrying objects.Working from platforms off the floor.Position requires the use of knives and hooks.Must be able to work in Hot, Humid and bloody work environment.
