Job summary

The Kroger Family of Companies is seeking a Meat Department Associate to prepare and display meat items in accordance with company standards. You will wait on customers, provide friendly service, and uphold respect, integrity, and safety in every interaction.

Responsibilities include keeping merchandise neat, checking quality and freshness, unloading trucks, maintaining clean work areas, and following all applicable laws and company policies while delivering prompt, tactful service to customers

Qualifications

• Willing and available to work weekends and holidays as needed.
• Effective written and oral communication skills.
• Able to read shelf tags, signs, and product labels.
• Qualified and able to operate power and various job tools (automatic wrapper, slicer, grinder, power saw, and jack).
• Must work safely with various chemically based cleaning solutions.
• Ability to work as part of a team in a fastpaced environment and willingness to help all members of the department.
• Able to tactfully and calmly handle stressful situations and make a positive impression on associates and customers.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and display merchandise in a neat, efficient, orderly manner.
• Check product quality; ensure freshness and proper rotation.
• Keep sales areas, backrooms, coolers clean and organized.
• Unload trucks and prepare merchandise for sale.
• Provide good customer and associate relations.
• Wash and sanitize equipment per policies.
• Make clean, neat, and friendly impression on customers.
• Greet customers and assist them in finding products.
• Follow all current rules and duties of the Meat, Company, and State and Federal laws.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area; be prompt, tactful, and professional.
• Adhere to dress code, food safety, sanitation policies, and harassment/discrimination policies.
• Perform any duties as assigned.
