The Process Machine Operator prepares and packs high-quality cuts of meats according to customer specifications using company standards and adhering to all safety requirements. The majority of time will be spent operating processing equipment such as grinders, Vemag, Patty Machines, Multi Vacs, etc.

Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:30 am - 5:00 pm (Saturday as needed)

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  1. Operation of Meat Processing Equipment; CryoVac, MultiVacs, Dicers, Needle, Slicer, Portion Cutters, Scales
  2. Pack, trim, and customize portions of meat products using knives or other meat production equipment
  3. Count and stack on tray portions per customer and company specifications
  4. Label portions with supplied product labels
  5. Set up packing and labeling area as required
  6. Pack and palletize orders
  7. Perform end of day functions
  8. Maintain, and merchandise partial cart
  9. Keep packing area and surrounding areas clean and sanitized
  10. Follow company GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices)
  11. Work continually in a refrigerated environment (35°F-45°F)
  12. Complete miscellaneous other duties as assigned

Supervision: The incumbent is not required to provide direct supervision for any position.

Relationships:

  • Internal: Interact with employees at all levels of responsibility throughout the company.
  • External: May perform demonstration cuts or packing for tours and sales team.

Qualifications

Education/Training: High school diploma or GED preferred. Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment. Finish time is when work is completed, possibly requiring overtime with or without notice.

Related Experience/Requirements: Experience with CryoVac, Vemag, MultiVac, Dicers, Needle, Slicer, Portion Cutter, or other meat production equipment preferred.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Knowledge of beef and lamb products; USDA grades and standards.

Physical Requirements: The role involves standing continuously, frequent lifting of various weights, pushing, pulling, stooping, bending, and manipulating objects, often in a refrigerated environment.

Compensation depends on experience, education, skills, location, and other factors. The expected base rate is between $13.00 and $14.42/hr. Overtime is applicable as well.
