Job summary

Halperns' Steak & Seafood is seeking a Meat Packer in Orlando, FL to accurately pack beef, pork, lamb, veal, and seafood products while following customer specifications.

You will read special instructions, perform quality checks, and ensure weights and labeling are correct. The schedule is 11:30 AM - 8:00 PM on weekends during busy season, with comprehensive benefits provided.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read, write and communicate in English.
• Able to work independently or within a team.
• Solves routine problems of limited scope following policies.
• Working knowledge of production equipment.
• Must follow all Food Safety Guidelines and Occupational Safety Guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Packs products accurately and on time according to specifications.
• Reads and follows customer-specific instructions and work orders.
• Performs Quality Control checks and reports defects.
• Inspects meat products for defects, bruises, or blemishes.
• Weights meats and tags containers with weight and contents.
• Distributes products to appropriate pack lines and assists as needed.
• Completes tasks to reduce processing costs.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Job description

Position Summary

Responsible for packing beef, pork, lamb, veal, and seafood products accurately and tastefully while also meeting customer specifications.

Essential Functions

• Packs products in an accurate and timely manner.
• Follows company standardized pack specifications along with any customer specified deviations as communicated through special instructions via work orders/cut tickets.
• Accurately reads and comprehends all customer specific special instructions.
• Performs Quality Control checks and communicates with supervisors and managers any defects.
• Inspects meat products for defects, bruises, or blemishes.
• Obtains and distributes products to appropriate pack lines.
• Weighs meats and tags containers with weight and contents.
• Effectively completes tasks to reduce processing costs.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Employees in all warehouse positions must be able to immediately perceive auditory warning signals such as bells, alarms, and horns that are used to warn employees of the start-up, movement, or approach of equipment (including forklifts, turrets, overhead cranes, conveyors, trucks, and other equipment operated inside or outside the warehouse), mechanical abnormalities, and similar risk situations during warehouse operations.
