Position Summary

As a Meat Department Lead, you will drive sales in your area and supervise your team of hourly associates to deliver more of what our members love, for less. You will model expertise in Meat and work collaboratively with other team leaders to ensure the total club meets the member’s expectations.

What you'll do
  • Be a Team Leader: Supervises the team within the meat department to deliver on the business plan and contribute to the overall success of the club by communicating the goals of the department, executing company programs, adhering to policies, and being an advocate for the member, the associate, and the company. Works collaboratively with other team leaders to ensure the total club meets members' expectations.
  • Be an Expert: Maintains an in-depth knowledge of business on the floor, backroom operations, product updates, and product specifications. Ensures the meat department meets company and regulatory standards for quality, inventory, production, equipment usage, safety, sanitation, and compliance. Shares knowledge and prioritizes training for the team to understand item specifications and utilize approved equipment for high-volume products. Engages with members and shares passion for the product to help them make the right protein selection.
  • Be a Techie: Leverages digital tools to plan for and drive sales, improve the shopping experience, and elevate associate engagement. Utilizes handheld technology for immediate business decisions related to production, training, and product quality, and encourages others to adopt new tools.
  • Be an Owner: Drives business results, ensuring operational excellence by maintaining a neat, clean, and safe work area, utilizing digital tools for forecasting and planning, managing inventory and ordering, ensuring proper staffing, and maintaining equipment and storage systems.
  • Be a Talent Ambassador: Teaches and trains the team, identifies training needs, encourages career growth, and recruits new talent. Develops and implements processes to meet business needs, collaborates with managers and partners, and monitors progress for continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrate Compliance and Ethical Standards: Promotes and supports compliance with company policies, procedures, and standards of ethics and integrity. Explains and demonstrates application of these standards, and assists in correcting issues.
  • Lead and Collaborate: Uses and shares resources, determines customer needs, coordinates work, and provides feedback. Models adaptability to change and new challenges.
  • Respect and Support Individuals: Embraces diversity, fosters a culture of belonging, and creates opportunities for all associates to thrive. Builds strong, trusting relationships, communicates effectively, and motivates and influences others.

Minimum Qualifications
  • 6 months experience in a meat production department or supervising a team
  • Must be 18 years or older
Preferred Qualifications

Experience in meat processing, including boneless and bone-in products, supervising associates, and Food Handler Certification (Food Safety) is preferred.
