Job summary

Iowa Premium, a National Beef Company, in Tama, Iowa, seeks a Fabrication Quality Assurance Technician for the on-site QA team. The role focuses on monitoring product quality, inspecting meat at the end of production lines, and ensuring adherence to specifications.

Ideal candidates understand HACCP, communicate well, and are proficient with Excel. Spanish reading/writing is required. The position may require overtime, weekends, and holidays; safety sensitivity applies.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with email communications.
• Microsoft Office (Excel).
• Beef products knowledge preferred.
• Ability to withstand extreme hot/cold environments.
• Must be able to read, write and speak Spanish.

Responsibilities

• Monitor product quality on the fabrication lines.
• Inspect meat pieces for adherence to specifications.
• Fill out audit report forms and maintain records.
• Enforce plant GMPs and SSOPs.
• Perform metal detector auditing and E. coli testing on trim (N60 sampling).
• Handle other duties as assigned. This is a safety sensitive, on-site position.

Fabrication Quality Assurance Technicians are responsible for knowing the product specifications for the line they are working on and filling out an audit report form. Fabrication Quality Assurance Technicians must also follow and help enforce plant Good Manufacturing Procedures and Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures. Other Fabrication Quality Assurance Technician responsibilities include metal detector auditing and testing trim for E.Coli, via N60 sampling. Other duties as assigned.

This is an hourly, management support position. Must be willing to work overtime, weekends, and holidays

Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
