Job summary

The Kroger Two Rivers location is seeking a proactive meat department professional to lead daily operations, ensure safety and freshness, and deliver outstanding customer service. You will manage scheduling, train teammates, and collaborate with store management to drive sales and meet department goals.

Qualifications

• Excellent oral/written communication skills.
• Current food handlers permit.
• Ability to handle stressful situations.
• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, subtraction).
• Any meat/retail experience is a plus.
• Any management experience is a plus.
• Second language proficiency is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Promote trust and respect among associates, with a positive attitude.
• Communicate company, department, and job specific information to associates.
• Establish department performance goals and empower associates to meet or exceed targets through teamwork.
• Develop adequate scheduling to manage customer volume.
• Train and develop associates on their job performance and participate in the performance appraisal process.
• Create an environment that enables customers to feel welcome and appreciated by answering questions about products sold within the department and store.
• Inform customers of specials and offer samples to help discover new items.
• Review products for quality and freshness and take action as needed.
• Develop and implement a department business plan to achieve desired results.
• Create and execute sales promotions in partnership with store management.
• Educate associates about current and upcoming promotions, especially those affecting the department.
• Assist in preparing the department budget, expense control, and profit/loss reviews.
