Job summary

Kroger in Santa Barbara is seeking a Meat Department Associate to support daily operations, assist customers, and help stock and prep foods while upholding Kroger’s safety and quality standards.

The role requires a proactive team player with strong communication skills, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and a commitment to food safety and customer service. Part-time opportunities are available.

Qualifications

• Willing to work weekends and holidays.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Able to read shelf tags, signs, product labels and training materials.
• Ability to multi-task, set priorities and interact professionally with all levels.
• Shows personal initiative and follow-through to completion.
• Works well in a fast-paced team environment.
• Able to safely use cleaning solutions and production equipment.

Responsibilities

• Wait on customers promptly and cheerfully; greet customers and provide high-quality food.
• Be polite, tactful, calm, courteous and professional in all interactions.
• Communicate effectively with customers and associates.
• Maintain clean, neat and friendly impression on customers.
• Unload and store merchandise; prepare and display foods per standards, recipes and policies.
• Perform temperature monitoring and ensure product quality is fresh and safe.
• Keep sales areas, backrooms and coolers clean and organized.
• Keep floors clean, safe and free of clutter.
