Job summary

Fresh Grocer is seeking a Meat Clean-up Clerk for the Inserra NY operation in Brooklyn, NY. The role focuses on maintaining a clean, sanitary Meat Department and supporting daily operations with safe handling of equipment and products.

You will lift heavy loads, work in cold environments, and interact with customers while following health, safety, and company policies. 18+ to operate equipment; strong teamwork required.

Qualifications

• Must read, write, speak English fluently.
• Ability to perform basic math.
• Stand/walk for the duration of a shift.
• Work in varying temperatures.
• Regularly lift 35 lbs. and occasionally 80–90 lbs.
• Ability to work with fresh, dried and/or processed products and spices.
• Interact with customers in a friendly manner.
• Cooperate with others and maintain punctuality.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean, neat, organized and safe work environment.
• Clean and sanitize all surfaces, utensils and equipment to standards.
• Keep floor clear of debris and spills.
• Assemble and disassemble Meat Department equipment.
• Monitor inventory of cleaning supplies; inform manager if low.
• Work in refrigerated and frozen areas with humidity and low temps.
• Check prices and know item locations in the store.
• Unload trucks and transport merchandise to Meat Department weighing 35–90 lbs.
• Operate equipment with safeguards and follow safety protocols.
• Dress and groom per company policy; observe QA hand washing standards.
