Whole Foods Market in Cincinnati seeks an experienced Meat Department Leader responsible for daily operations, profitability, buying, merchandising, labor, and safety. You will hire, develop, and coach Team Members while upholding WFM standards and customer service.

This role requires strong leadership, vendor relations, budgeting, and the ability to mentor a high‑performing team in a fast‑paced retail setting.

Qualifications

• 24+ months retail experience including 12+ months of team leadership.
• Food safety certification or commitment to obtain within 6 months.
• Certified Meat Journeyman or equivalent training.
• Strong interpersonal, motivational, team-building and customer relationship skills.
• Proficiency with regulatory and safety policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Lead Meat team and ensure outstanding customer service.
• Hire and separate in partnership with Store Leadership.
• Achieve sales, purchasing, and labor targets; monitor budget.
• Manage ordering and inventory to support margin.
• Build collaborative relationships with leadership and vendors.
• Monitor competitors and industry trends.
• Uphold highest standards of retail execution.
• Foster teamwork and high morale.
• Ensure optimal customer flow and satisfaction.
• Train, mentor, and counsel Team Members.
• Enforce safety standards and perform evaluations.
• Communicate WFM vision and goals.
