Responsibilities

• Assist in managing daily operations of the Meat Department.
• Ensure meat cases and displays are stocked, attractive, and properly merchandised.
• Monitor product quality, freshness, rotation, and inventory levels.
• Assist with ordering, receiving, and inventory control activities.
• Support department productivity and operational efficiency initiatives.
• Provide leadership, coaching, and direction to department associates.
• Assist with hiring, onboarding, and training new team members.
• Foster a positive work environment focused on teamwork, accountability, and customer service.
• Monitor associate performance and provide ongoing feedback.
• Act as department leader in the absence of the Meat Manager.
• Deliver outstanding customer service and assist customers with product selection and special orders.
• Resolve customer concerns professionally and promote a customer-focused culture.
• Ensure department associates provide friendly, knowledgeable service.
• Monitor product presentation and merchandising standards.
• Maintain proper product rotation and freshness controls.
• Maintain visually appealing service cases and displays.
• Support execution of promotional programs and seasonal merchandising plans.
• Ensure accurate pricing and signage throughout the department.
• Assist with inventory control, receiving, and stock replenishment.
• Monitor sales trends and support proper ordering practices.
• Help minimize shrink through proper handling and stock management.
• Investigate inventory discrepancies and implement corrective actions.
• Support accurate inventory counts and department audits.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and health department requirements.
• Monitor proper handling, storage, and processing procedures.
• Maintain clean and organized work areas, equipment, and preparation spaces.
• Ensure associates follow safety procedures and company policies.
• Support department inspections, audits, and corrective action plans.
• Support achievement of department sales, gross profit, labor, and shrink goals.
• Monitor operating expenses and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Assist in implementing strategies to increase sales and profitability.
• Support labor planning and productivity initiatives.
• Review department performance metrics and participate in action planning.
