Albertsons Companies seeks a dedicated meat department professional to lead the Butcher Block area. You will ensure exceptional customer service, assist with product selection, and maintain quality, freshness, and presentation standards across meat, poultry, and seafood lines.

In this role, you will train team members, manage daily duties, and uphold food safety requirements while keeping displays organized and inviting for customers in a fast-paced store environment.

Qualifications

• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Working knowledge of meat and seafood products, handling and merchandising.
• Ability to train and support department staff.
• Maintain department standards for quality, freshness and presentation.
• Basic math, weighing, pricing, and inventory skills.
• Strong organization and attention to detail.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.
• Safely operate department equipment including knives and scales.

Responsibilities

• Maintains an atmosphere of enthusiastic customer awareness with fast, friendly service.
• Assists customers with product selections, orders, and questions on meat/seafood.
• Engages in suggestive selling and promotes products through direct interaction.
• Oversees daily operation of the Butcher Block area and maintains standards.
• Provides direction and training to Butcher Block employees.
• Monitors productivity and assigns daily duties for coverage.
• Prepares, weighs, wraps, labels, and displays meat, poultry, seafood, and related products.
• Ensures proper temperature controls and follows food safety requirements.
• Keeps display cases clean, stocked, and visually appealing.
• Rotates products and removes outdated merchandise.
• Inspects labeling, packaging, and dating according to procedures.
• Assists with receiving, quality checks, and inventory management.
• Supports with promotional and seasonal displays and opening/closing procedures.
• Operates equipment safely and adheres to company policies.
