Job summary

The Kroger Company is seeking a part-time associate to perform general clean-up, stock work in the Meat department, and provide excellent customer service. You will greet customers, maintain product displays, monitor temperatures, and ensure freshness and safety throughout the store.

Qualifications

• Willing to work weekends and holidays.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Able to read shelf tags, signs, product labels, training materials, and bulletins.
• Ability to multi-task, set priorities, present information in a professional manner and work with all levels of the organization.
• Personal initiative and follow through to completion.
• Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be able to work with various cleaning solutions, safely use sharp tools, and carefully operate all production equipment.
• Past work record reflects dependability and integrity.
• Previous experience in food preparation.
• Experience in grocery retail and customer service.

Responsibilities

• Wait on customers promptly and cheerfully; greet customers and provide quality food.
• Be prompt, tactful, calm, courteous, and professional in all interactions.
• Must communicate with customers and associates.
• Make clean, neat, and friendly impression on customers.
• Unload and store merchandise; prepare and display foods per standards, recipes, and policies.
• Monitor temperatures and product quality to ensure freshness and safety.
• Keep sales areas, backrooms, and coolers clean and organized.
• Maintain clean floors and safe work spaces.
• Wash and sanitize cookware and utensils per policies and health rules.
• Maintain signage, product rotation, freshness, quantity, quality, and space allocation.
• Maintain equipment and facilities safely per policies.
• Adhere to company policies and state/federal laws.
• Operate cash register per procedures; handle transactions as applicable.
• Ability to work in a high-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
• Resolve conflicts in a cooperative, nonconfrontational manner.
• Protect customer and business information with honesty and integrity.
• Follow directions and seek assistance when needed to resolve issues.
• Provide support to minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
