Job Responsibilities

1. Ensure all products are properly prepared (cutting and trimming), handled, wrapped, and merchandised.
2. Receive and check all meat deliveries for condition, correct quantities, and weights.
3. Assist in planning special promotions and displays.
4. Manage signage, correct weights (tare and packaging), and pricing.
5. Ensure merchandise rotation according to code dating policy.
6. Maintain full cases and keep the meat department fixtures, equipment, and area clean, sanitized, and hazard-free.
7. Handle store property and equipment responsibly to maximize usage.
8. Perform freshness checks and recondition products as needed.
9. Maintain high product knowledge and merchandising skills to meet department goals.
10. Provide courteous and friendly customer service.
11. Keep records as requested and order meat products accordingly.
12. Operate saws, cubers, slicers, scales, grinders, and labeling machines.
13. Assist customers and employees as needed.
14. Prepare, weigh, package, price, and rotate products to maximize profit.
15. Perform cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, and general sanitation.
16. Operate telephones and intercoms, adhering to proper etiquette.
17. Follow all company policies outlined in the employee handbook.
18. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Be a self-starter.
• Ability to read and write.
• Proficiency in basic math (add, subtract, multiply, divide).
• Ability to give and follow verbal and written instructions.
• Provide verbal and physical assistance to customers.
• Lift and stack up to 100 pounds.
• Pull or push wheeled vehicles weighing up to 1,000 pounds.
• Reach and stock products up to 6 feet high.
