Is responsible for signage, correct weights (tare and packaging), and pricing.
Ensures that all merchandise is rotated according to code dating policy.
Maintains the meat department by keeping cases full and fixtures, equipment, and area clean, sanitized, and free from hazards.
Handles all store property and equipment properly to maximize usage.
Performs freshness checks and reconditions products as needed.
Maintains high product knowledge and merchandising skills to meet department goals.
Provides courteous and friendly customer service.
Keeps records as requested.
Orders meat products as needed.
Operates saws, cubers, slicers, scales, grinders, and labeling machines.
Assists customers and employees as needed.
Prepares, weighs, packages, prices, stocks, and rotates products to maximize gross profit.
Performs cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, and sanitation.
Uses telephones and intercoms professionally and courteously.
Follows all company policies outlined in the employee handbook.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Be a self-starter.
Have basic reading and writing skills.
Be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide.
Follow verbal and written instructions effectively.
Provide verbal and physical assistance to customers.
Lift and stack up to 100 pounds.
Pull or push wheeled vehicles weighing up to 1,000 pounds.
Reach and stock products up to 6 feet high.
