Job summary

Colonial Group is seeking a Meat Cutter to maintain the meat department to company standards, trimming, cutting, packaging and labeling products while ensuring proper cold chain and attractive displays. You will support merchandising, ordering, and adherence to COOL/USDA rules.

Ideal candidates are 18+ with a high school diploma, able to read/write/speak English, and possess strong math, teamwork and customer service skills; willingness to work across store areas as needed.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience safely using manual pallet jacks, hand tools and power equipment (knives, wrappers, scales, slicers, cubing machine, power saw) preferred.
• Proficiency in basic math skills.
• Must read, write and speak English; Spanish or other languages a plus.

Responsibilities

• Using knives and power equipment, cuts and/or packages authorized beef, pork and poultry items according to company policies and procedures.
• Wraps, weighs and prices cuts of meat based on company and pricing guidelines.
• Labels packages according to COOL, USDA and company standards.
• Maintains proper date rotation and merchandising to maximize sales and display quality.
• Receives, inspects, and stores meat to maintain cold chain and quality.
