Job summary

BJ’s Wholesale Club is looking to hire a Meat Department team member. You will receive, rotate, cut, wrap, and merchandize fresh and processed meats, including grinds, and support the deli and rotisserie areas while helping members with product knowledge.

Requirements include a meat cutting training program or apprenticeship and prior meat cutting experience; wrapping machines knowledge is a plus. 18+ and able to work in a fast-paced environment with safety in mind.

Qualifications

• Completion of a training program or apprenticeship required.
• Previous meat cutting experience required.
• Knowledge of automatic or hand wrapping machines preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Receive, rotate, cut, wrap, and merchandize fresh and processed meats, including grinds.
• Assist in merchandising seafood, prepared foods, cheeses, and pre-packed deli, and support the rotisserie chicken area and full service deli.
• Conduct meat cutting, grading, packaging, and labeling to company standards.
• Maintain sanitation and safety standards within the meat department.
• Engage members with product knowledge, recommendations, and to resolve concerns.
• Ensure compliance with club policies and procedures.
• Work in other departments as needed and perform any additional assigned duties.
• Maintain regular, predictable full attendance.

Salary

Pay range starts at $19.75 per hour. Additional signing bonus structure: $1,000 sign‑on bonus, with $500 paid after six months and another $500 after one year.

Environmental Conditions

• Work primarily on hard surfaces, often bending, stooping, reaching, and handling merchandise.
• Frequent lifting of up to 30 pounds and occasional heavier loads with assistance.
• Work in cooler areas with exposure to temperature extremes, loud noises, and cleaning agents.
