Job Title: Meat Cutter

Location: Retail Grocery Location

Position Overview

The meat cutter is responsible for providing courteous and prompt service, maintaining consistent operating conditions, and creating a friendly atmosphere. Under supervision, this role cuts meat to specifications for variety, size, quality, and trim.

Primary Responsibilities & Accountabilities

• Provide attentive customer service, greeting, assisting, and thanking customers courteously and promptly.
• Prepare, package, and process customer orders for various meat products, including fresh meats, smoked meats, seafood, and more.
• Receive and break down meat deliveries.
• Follow peak time cutting lists to cut and trim products as per standards.
• Wrap, weigh, and price products appropriately.
• Cube, slice, and grind meat as needed.
• Adhere to local, state, and federal laws regarding weights, measures, sanitation, and labeling.
• Operate power equipment safely.
• Suggest products when suitable.
• Stock, rotate, and restock department products to ensure freshness and minimize waste.
• Operate department tools and equipment.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
• Report any theft, shoplifting, or policy violations to management.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English.
• Ability to understand and follow instructions in English.
• Legal authorization to work in the U.S. or ability to obtain it.
• Successful pre-employment drug test and background check.
