Job summary

Shaw’s and Star Market in Vermont is seeking a Meat Cutter to prepare beef, poultry and other cuts for display, trim and label products, and ensure quality standards are met. You will work with a variety of cuts and tools, uphold product freshness, and help customers with recommendations.

You will interact with customers, fulfill special cut requests, maintain clean, organized displays, and follow safety and sanitation procedures in a refrigerated department.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Prior meat cutting or food preparation experience required.
• Ability to operate power equipment such as saws, grinders, and slicers following training and safety guidelines
• Knowledge of meat cuts and preparation techniques required
• Ability to work in refrigerated environments and maintain sanitation standards
• Availability to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Compliance with company policies including food safety, sanitation, and dress standards

Responsibilities

• Prepare beef, poultry, and other cuts for display.
• Trim, package, and label products to quality standards.
• Interact with customers and fulfill special cut requests.
