Job summary

Shafter Apple Market is seeking an experienced Meat Cutter to join our store's meat department. You will trim and prepare standard cuts, and follow the store’s merchandising plan to drive sales and profitability.

Responsibilities include cutting with knives and power equipment, displaying and packaging meat attractively, and maintaining stock levels while upholding high sanitation and quality standards in our fresh department.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age.
• Experience using meat cutting equipment, power equipment, and hand tools.
• Ability to stand for long periods and regularly lift 30lbs.

Responsibilities

• Cut and trim meat using knives and power equipment.
• Package and display meat in an attractive manner.
• Order inventory and maintain appropriate levels of stock.
• Receive and inspect meat as it arrives to the store; Ensure the cold chain is unbroken and meat remains high quality.
• Follow high standards of sanitation and quality control.
