Job summary

Food City in Virginia is seeking a hands-on Meat Cutter to join our meat department. You will cut, grind, slice, and merchandise fresh meat, while assisting with ordering, receiving, and display of products.

The role requires on-site work, attention to product rotation, cleanliness, and strict adherence to HACCP guidelines. Prior meat cutting is a plus; training provided where needed. Competitive benefits offered by Food City.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Meat cutting experience is a plus, but not required
• Ability to meet standard Physical, Mental, and Visual demands
• Ability to understand and follow verbal and/or written instructions, perform routine and repetitive tasks and have constant contact/interaction with various levels of individuals on a daily basis
• Ability to attend on-site work during scheduled shifts to adhere to company time and attendance policies

Responsibilities

• Cut and merchandise fresh meat.
• Assist in ordering, receiving and displaying all product.
• Grind meat and slice meat as needed.
• Maintain cooler arrangement and stocking of cooler.
• Rotate product and ensure neat appearance of display cases.
• Maintain good code dates on all products in display cases.
• Keep work station clean and organized; sanitize department twice daily.
• Provide efficient and courteous service to customers.
• Support HACCP program adherence.
