Gelson's is seeking a Meat Cutter to support the daily operations of the meat department. You will cut, weigh, and price meat products, ensure freshness, and maintain stocking levels while delivering excellent customer service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Successful completion of an apprenticeship/training program.
• Knowledge of grocery products, merchandising techniques, and inventory management.
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Flexibility to work a varied schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Cut, grind, wrap, weigh, and price all meat, fish, and poultry products.
• Code date and rotate all prepared cuts to ensure freshness.
• Ensure meat and refrigerated cases are stocked and faced at all times.
• Handle damaged/spoiled products per policy and assist in controlling waste.
• Provide excellent customer service by assisting shoppers and answering questions.
• Maintain department cleanliness and assist with merchandising, displays, and signage.
• Assist in receiving and stocking merchandise and maintaining inventory levels.
