Giant Eagle is seeking a Meat Cutter Apprentice to join the Meat Team. You will cut meat and related products for sale, ensuring the freshest offerings and a strong customer experience. The role emphasizes teamwork, learning, and leadership growth in a fast-paced grocery environment.

You will handle meat cutting duties, assist with orders, maintain cold storage, and follow safety guidelines to serve guests and support store goals. No HS diploma required; 0–6 months experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience required: 0 to 6 months.
• Prior experience in the field or related field is desirable.
• No High School diploma required.

Responsibilities

• Cut meat for sale by portioning products from the cooler.
• Assist in grinding meat and preparing ground products.
• Prepare and record special orders to meet customer expectations.
• Help maintain cold storage by unloading deliveries.
• Learn all aspects of code dating.
• Follow procedures to minimize out-of-stock levels.
• Wrap and maintain meat case presentation.
• Rotate and check product dates for safety.
• Deliver products and service aligned with company standards.
• Maintain safety as a top priority in all work activities.
• Provide friendly service, greet customers, fulfill orders and suggest add-ons.
• Share food knowledge and learn continuously.
• Learn and follow current work methods.
• Handle products and equipment per food safety guidelines.
• Practice suggestive selling techniques.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation throughout work areas.
