Job summary

SpartanNash is seeking a Meat Cutter at the Lakeview, OH location. You will cut and weigh meats, prepare value-added products, and maintain shelves to company standards.

The role requires reading and writing ability, basic math, and a detail-oriented, customer-focused mindset. Prior meat-cutting or apprentice experience is strongly preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• One year retail or related experience preferred.
• Prior Meat Cutter/Apprentice experience strongly preferred.
• Ability to read, write, comprehend and interpret documents.
• Basic mathematical skills.
• Suggestive selling/knowledge of products.
• Detail oriented.

Responsibilities

• Cut and weigh steaks, chops, etc. for individual servings.
• Produce value-added products per guidelines.
• Cut, trim and bone carcass sections to cooking cuts.
• Follow recipes to grind and tray meats and make sausage and other products.
• Price, date, wrap and/or bag meat products per guidelines.
• Fill, rotate and merchandise shelves, cases and displays.
• Notify manager if products and supplies need to be ordered.
• Receive, unload, and stock merchandise.
• Familiarize yourself with all products; know differences in price, taste, preparation and use.
• Practice suggestive selling techniques with customers.
• Maintain a clean, attractive and well-stocked department.
• Follow PPE and safety guidelines; food safety and cleaning expectations.
• Follow guest experience guidelines.
• May be assigned tasks in other departments as needed.
