Job summary

Food City is offering an internship in the Meat Department in East Ridge, TN. The role focuses on cutting and merchandising fresh meat, assisting with ordering and display, grinding and slicing meat, and maintaining product freshness and sanitation.

You will help organize coolers, rotate stock, and ensure HACCP compliance while delivering courteous service to customers. The position emphasizes on-site work, adherence to schedules, and active participation in daily operations within a

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Meat cutting experience is a plus but not required.
• Ability to meet standard physical, mental, and visual demands.
• Ability to understand and follow verbal and/or written instructions, perform routine tasks with daily interaction.
• Ability to attend on-site work during scheduled shifts to adhere to time and attendance policies.

Responsibilities

• Cut and merchandise fresh meat.
• Assist in ordering, receiving and displaying products.
• Grind meat and slice meats.
• Organize cooler layout and stock displays.
• Rotate products and maintain display cleanliness and hygiene.
• Maintain neat displays and ensure proper code dates.
• Keep work area clean and sanitized daily.
• Provide efficient, courteous customer service.
• Enforce HACCP program as applicable.

Job description

Essential Job Functions:

• Responsible for cutting and merchandising of all fresh meat.
• Assist in ordering, receiving and displaying all product.
• Grind meat.
• Slice meat.
• Assist in organizing cooler arrangement and stocking of cooler.
• Responsible for rotation of product.
• Maintain neat and clean appearance of all display cases.
• Maintain good code dates on all product in display cases.
• Keep work station and area around work station neat and clean.
• Department is to be sanitized and disinfected twice a day.
• Provide efficient and courteous service to customers.
• Assist in enforcing and maintaining the company HACCP program.

Qualifications:

• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Meat cutting experience a plus, but not required

• Ability to understand and follow verbal and/or written instructions, perform routine and repetitive tasks and have constant contact/interaction with various levels of individuals on a daily basis
