Job summary

Kroger is seeking team members for the Meat department to assist customers, stock shelves, and maintain clean, orderly displays. You will follow safety rules, monitor temperatures, and ensure product quality while providing friendly service in a fast-paced retail setting.

Responsibilities include handling merchandise, operating cash registers where required, and collaborating with coworkers to meet store standards and policies. Weekend availability is preferred; training provided.

• Able to read shelf tags, signs, product labels, training materials, and bulletins.
• Ability to multi-task, set priorities, present information in a professional manner and work with all levels of the organization.

• Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be able to work with various cleaning solutions, safely use sharp tools, and carefully operate all production equipment.

Responsibilities

• Wait on customers and counter promptly and cheerfully; greet customers and provide good quality food.
• Be prompt, tactful, calm, courteous, and professional in all interactions.
• Must be able to communicate with customers and associates.
• Make clean, neat, and friendly impression on customers.
• Unload and store merchandise, prepare and display foods according to standards.
• Perform required temperature monitoring.
• Monitor product quality; ensure freshness and safety.
• Keep sales areas, backrooms, and coolers clean and organized.
• Wash and sanitize cookware and utensils per policies.
• Maintain signage, product rotation, freshness, quantity, quality and space allocation.
• Maintain equipment and facilities safely per policies.
• Adhere to company policies and laws; operate cash register as applicable.
• Handle high-paced environments and resolve conflicts calmly.
• Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
• Follow directions and seek help to resolve issues; support minors, individuals with special needs, and/or older adults.
