Job summary

Hometown-Grocers,-Inc. is seeking a Meat Clerk to support the meat counter and assist guests with purchases, knowledge, and service excellence. This hourly, part-time role reports to the Meat Manager and focuses on accurate product handling, safety and guest satisfaction.

You will rotate stock, manage temperatures, greet customers, take requests, and maintain clean work areas while adhering to company policies and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Ability to deal tactfully and effectively with customers and all personnel.
• Good oral and written communication skills and the ability to handle a diverse crew in a highly stressful environment.
• Complete understanding of all safety requirements and company safety policies.
• Knowledge of equipment/procedures: slicers, proper lifting techniques, trash compactor, baler.

Responsibilities

• Provides customer service to guests.
• Assist guests with finding items they are looking for on or off the sales floor.
• Takes orders and other special requests.
• Answers the telephone and assists callers using proper phone etiquette.
• Addresses guest concerns and resolves issues; bring concern to Meat Manager if needed.
• Watches over service case; quality control; rotate products using FIFO.
• Garnish products; ensure signs, prices and cleanliness are maintained.
• Inventory and temperatures; maintain food safety logs.
• Regular attendance and finding a replacement for absences.
• Other duties as assigned.
