Job summary

Uncle Gs Management Corp. is seeking an Overnight Meat Clerk to join our Meat Department on the 10:00pm-6:30am shift. Weekend availability is expected, and no butcher skills are required though helpful. We value customer service and helping shoppers find what they need.

You'll keep the department clean, unpack deliveries, and sanitize equipment while maintaining high standards. If you bring energy and a customer-first attitude, we want to hear from you!

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Experience in Meat Department preferred.
• Knowledge of wrapping machines preferred or willingness to learn.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while providing excellent customer service.
• Able to work all shifts as schedule provides.

Responsibilities

• Weighs, packages, wraps, and labels cuts of meat and poultry, including grinds.
• Assists the meat cutter in packaging freshly cut meats and poultry; may grind hamburger meat.
• Inspects and stores meat upon delivery; ensures that all delivered meat meets or exceeds company quality standards.
• Ensures the meat cases are fully stocked; rotates meats and poultry by expiration dates; dispose of damaged/expired products as per guidelines.
• Receives and unpacks meat and poultry in the meat cooler and freezer.
• Cleans and sanitizes all equipment, display fixtures, and areas in the meat department.
• Maintains all store policies and procedures.
• Performs other duties as assigned, including working in other departments as needed.

We’re looking for an (overnight) Meat Clerk to join our Meat Department—and yes, weekends are part of the fun as we serve our amazing customers! Don’t worry if you’re not a butcher—while butchering skills are a plus, they’re definitely not required. What really matters is your passion for great customer service and helping shoppers find exactly what they need.

As an Meat Clerk you will keep the department clean and organized by unpacking deliveries, and sanitize all equipment and surfaces to keep everything fresh and safe—all while following our company’s high standards. Responsibilities:

1. Weighs, packages, wraps, and labels cuts of meat and poultry, including grinds

Requirements

1. Must be at least 18 years of age
2. Previous experience working in a Meat Department, working with fresh meat is preferred
3. Knowledge of automatic/hand wrapping machines preferred or willingness to learn
4. Ability to work in a fast paced environment while providing excellent customer service
5. Able to work all shifts or shifts as provided with schedule

Working Conditions

1. Most of the time is spent moving about continuously on hard surfaces. There may be a need to frequently position oneself to examine and/or scan merchandise, including bending, climbing, crawling, handling, pulling, reaching, and stooping.
2. May require lifting objects up to 30 pounds. May require lifting and moving heavy and/or awkward objects more than 30 pounds with assistance.
3. Usually in a comfortable indoor environment surrounded by moving machinery and/or loud equipment that may require shouting in order to be heard. There could be exposure to temperature extremes from freezers, ovens, and/or coolers.
4. There may be occasional exposure to cleaning agents, sharp objects/industrial equipment necessary to perform job duties and functions.
