Job summary

Kroger is seeking a part-time Meat Department team member to assist with stock, clean-up, and customer service. You will uphold Kroger’s values and ensure safe, fresh food and helpful service in a fast-paced store setting.

Responsibilities include greeting customers, aiding with displays, monitoring temperatures, and maintaining clean departments, backrooms, and coolers. Prior experience in retail or food service is a plus.

Qualifications

• Must be willing to work weekends and holidays.
• Demonstrates effective written and verbal communication skills that engage customers and associates.
• Able to read shelf tags, signs, product labels, training materials, and bulletins.
• Ability to multi-task, set priorities, present information professionally, and work with all levels of the organization.
• Personal initiative and follow through to completion.
• Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be able to work with various cleaning solutions, safely use sharp tools, and carefully operate all production equipment.

Responsibilities

• Wait on customers and counter promptly and cheerfully; greet customers and provide them with good quality food.
• Be prompt, tactful, calm, courteous, and professional in all interactions.
• Must be able to communicate with customers and associates.
• Make clean, neat, and friendly impression on customers.
• Unload and store merchandise, prepare and display foods in accordance with company standards, recipes, and policies.
• Perform required temperature monitoring.
• Monitor product quality; ensure freshness and safety.
• Keep sales areas, backrooms, and coolers clean and well organized.
• Keep floors clean, safe, and free from clutter.
• Wash and sanitize cookware and utensils per policies.
• Maintain signage, rotation, freshness, quantity, quality and space for merchandise.
• Maintain equipment and facilities safely per procedures.
• Adhere to company policies, State and Federal laws.
• Operate cash register following procedures.
• Ability to work cooperatively in high paced and sometimes stressful environment.
• Ability to manage conflict in a reasonable, nonconfrontational and cooperative manner.
• Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
• Follow directions and seek assistance to resolve issues.
• Provide support and assistance through direct interaction with minors, individuals with special needs, and/or older adults.
