Job summary

Fiesta Mart in Houston, TX is seeking a Meat Clerk to join our fast-paced Store Operations Team. Under direct supervision, you will assist customers, stock displays, and coordinate with the Meat Cutter to fulfill special orders.

You should be able to read and write Spanish and English, lift up to 50–60 pounds, and provide friendly service in a diverse community. Food handler certification is required and prior retail experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bi-lingual in Spanish and English required.
• Customer service skills in a retail grocery environment.
• Ability to read and follow simple instructions.
• Physical ability to frequently lift up to 60 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Provide friendly, courteous customer service and assist in the meat department.
• Clean shelves and display cases and rotate meat displays; work with Meat Cutter on items to be cut.
• Take special orders and ensure proper pricing and labeling.

The Opportunity

Under direct supervision, the Meat Clerk provides friendly, courteous and helpful customer service. Assists the customers, clean shelves, and display cases. Cleans, fills, and rotates the Meat Wrap displays. Works with customers to take special orders as well as with the Meat Cutter to determine which items need to be cut. Must be able to lift 50 lbs., Bend, stand and stoop for prolonged periods.

The working environment is typical for a fast-paced grocery store, and essential functions of this job include physical requirements such as lifting, standing, walking and kneeling as well as visual and auditory requirements.
