Job Title: Meat Clerk

Reports To: Meat Manager

The Meat Clerk maintains stock levels within the Meat Department by replenishing products and provides exceptional service to guests both behind the service counter and on the sales floor.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Assist guests in finding items on or off the sales floor.
2. Receive, prepare, and fulfill guest orders and special requests.
3. Provide excellent guest service by professionally answering department calls and assisting on the sales floor.
4. Support teammates and contribute positively to the Meat Department culture.
5. Address guest concerns and resolve issues using the boomerang principle.
6. Ensure quality control by inspecting, rotating, maintaining proper temperatures, and replenishing meat products.
7. Maintain inventory levels for supplies like containers, wraps, and tags.
8. Follow food safety procedures and maintain logs.
9. Meet quality standards, including quantity expectations at 100% by 10 am and 5 pm.
10. Maintain regular, timely attendance and communicate absences in advance.
11. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Candidates should be able to perform all essential duties satisfactorily. Requirements include:

• Tactful and effective communication with customers and staff.
• Good oral and written communication skills in a diverse environment.
• Understanding of safety requirements and policies.
• Ability to recognize and react to safety hazards, and knowledge of equipment like slicers, proper lifting techniques, trash compactors, and balers.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

• Stand, bend, stoop, and kneel regularly.
• Lift up to 80 pounds occasionally.
• Work in extreme temperatures like freezers and kitchens.
• Perform repetitive motions.
• Work in a fast-paced environment.

Work Schedule

This is a part-time or full-time position with varying shifts, including weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
