General Function

Provides prompt, efficient, and friendly customer service. Wraps, trims, stocks cases, and receives merchandise in the Meat and/or Seafood Department.

Reporting Relations

Reports to: District Store Director, Store Manager, Assistant Managers of Operations, Perishables, Health Wellness Home, Meat Department Manager, Assistant Meat Department Manager, Seafood Department Manager, Assistant Seafood Department Manager, Service Managers.

Positions reporting to this role: Under certain circumstances, part-time stockers may receive direction from this position.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

1. Provides prompt, efficient, and friendly customer service, exhibiting caring, concern, and patience in all interactions.
2. Greets customers with a smile, assists in locating products, and enhances the shopping experience.
3. Answers calls promptly and provides helpful service, including taking orders.
4. Works as a team with co-workers to ensure customer satisfaction.
5. Wraps, weighs, labels products, and ensures freshness and proper stock rotation.
6. Prepares and organizes seafood items for display.
7. Maintains cleanliness and sanitation standards.
8. Replenishes and organizes coolers, reports out-of-stock items.
9. Performs trimming, slicing, tenderizing, and grinding of products.
10. Removes trash timely and adheres to personal hygiene and dress code policies.
11. Reports to work as scheduled and on time.

Secondary Duties

• Prepares signage, orders replenishment merchandise, and assists in other store areas as needed.
• Performs other duties and projects as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Worker Characteristics

• Ability to follow detailed instructions and handle concrete variables.
• Basic math skills, including addition and subtraction.
• Ability to understand and follow verbal and demonstrated instructions, and request supplies orally or in writing.

Education and Experience

High School diploma or equivalent, food safety training, and up to six months of related experience.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to exert up to 85 pounds occasionally, 40 pounds frequently, and 10 pounds constantly.
• Visual acuity from less than 20 inches to over 20 feet, including color vision and depth perception.
• Physical activities include climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.

Working Conditions

Cool environment, dampness, noise from equipment, exposure to cleaning solvents, and potential electrical hazards in a fast-paced setting.

Equipment Used

Knives, grinders, tenderizer, slicer, pallet jack, tumbler, wrapping system, rotisserie.
