Job Summary

Job Title: Meat Clerk

Reports To: Meat Manager

Must be available until 9 PM and on weekends.

The Meat Clerk maintains stock levels within the Meat Department by replenishing products as needed. Provides exceptional service to guests both at the service counter and on the sales floor, embodying the boomerang theory of service.

Job Description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist guests in locating items on or off the sales floor
  • Receive, prepare, and fulfill guest orders and special requests
  • Provide excellent guest service by answering department calls professionally and engaging with guests on the sales floor
  • Support team members and contribute positively to the Meat Department culture
  • Address guest concerns and resolve issues using the boomerang principle
  • Ensure high-quality standards by inspecting, rotating, maintaining proper temperatures, and replenishing meat products
  • Maintain proper inventory levels for supplies like containers, wraps, and tags
  • Follow food safety procedures diligently and keep logs
  • Meet quality standards, including quantity expectations at 100% by 10 am and 5 pm
  • Maintain regular and timely attendance, providing notice for absences
  • Perform other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Understanding of safety requirements and company safety policies
  • Ability to recognize and react to safety hazards; knowledge of equipment like slicers, proper lifting techniques, trash compactors, and balers
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • Stand, bend, stoop, and kneel regularly
  • Full upper body mobility
  • Lifting up to 80 pounds occasionally
  • Exposure to extreme temperatures in freezers, coolers, kitchens, and sales floors
  • Repetitive hand and wrist motions
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
WORK SCHEDULE

The Meat Clerk position can be part-time or full-time, with shifts including weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
