Job summary

Kroger in Carmel, IN is seeking a friendly Meat department team member to perform general cleanup, stock work and provide customer service. You’ll demonstrate our core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion and safety.

Responsibilities include greeting customers, unloading merchandise, temperature monitoring, maintaining clean and safe work areas, operating the cash register, and supporting with food preparation as needed.

Qualifications

  • Able to read shelf tags, signs, labels and training materials.

  • Maintain equipment and facilities safely per procedures.
  • Adhere to company policies, and state/federal laws.
  • Operate the cash register per procedures.
  • Work cooperatively in high-paced, sometimes stressful environments.
  • Manage conflicts in a constructive manner.
  • Protect customer and business information with honesty and integrity.
  • Follow directions and seek help to resolve issues.
  • Provide support to minors, special needs individuals, and older adults as needed.

Job description

Responsibilities
  • Wait on customers and counter promptly and cheerfully. Greet customers and provide them with good quality food.
  • Be prompt, tactful, calm, courteous, and professional in all interactions.
  • Must be able to communicate with customers and associates.
  • Make clean, neat, and friendly impression on customers.
  • Unload and store merchandise, prepare and display foods in accordance with company standards, recipes, and policies.
  • Perform required temperature monitoring.
  • Monitor product quality; make sure it is always fresh and safe.
  • Keep sales areas, backrooms, and coolers clean and well organized.
  • Keep floors clean, safe, and free from clutter.
  • Wash and sanitize cookware and utensils in accordance with company and Health Department policies and procedures.
  • Maintain proper signage, product rotation, freshness, quantity, quality and proper space allocation for merchandise.
  • Maintain equipment and facilities properly and safely in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures, as well as State and Federal laws.
  • Operate cash register in accordance with company procedures, as applicable.
  • Ability to work cooperatively in high paced and sometimes stressful environment.
  • Ability to manage conflict in a reasonable, nonconfrontational and cooperative manner.
  • Ability to act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
  • Ability to follow directions and seek assistance when necessary to resolve customer and business issues.
  • Provide support and assistance through direct interaction with minors, individuals with special needs, and/or older adults.

  • Experience in grocery retail and customer service.
