Qualifications

• Retail meat category management experience required; degree not required.
• 3+ years in meat marketing, merchandising or selling to grocery stores or wholesalers.
• Professional appearance and positive company image.
• Strong PC skills, Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong analytical skills to interpret financial and operational reports.
• Excellent presentation and report communication.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel regionally.
• Must lift up to 70 lbs and perform hands-on merchandising in stores.

• Develop and implement meat merchandising plans, including allocation programs and plan-o-grams.
• Assist with weekly ad planning by coordinating with vendors, department managers, and buyers.
• Monitor inventory, quality control, and warehouse program compliance.
• Maintain compliance with company policies, sanitation standards, and federal/state regulations (FDA).
• Utilize technology and the Flawless Execution method to track and report results.

Job Summary

The Meat Category Manager supports retail customers by driving profitable meat sales, providing merchandising expertise, and acting as a liaison between the company and stores. This role requires strong communication, analytical, and organizational skills, along with knowledge of meat products, operations and merchandising best practices.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular store visits to support meat sales growth and provide guidance.
• Analyze departmental financials, operations, and competitor strategies; provide actionable recommendations.

• Work occurs in stores, including freezers, coolers, and around heavy machinery.
• Possess a valid driver’s license as this position requires some overnight travel.
• Must be currently authorized to work in the USA without the need for a visa sponsorship now or in the future.
