Job summary

Clarks Market Inc in Crested Butte, CO is hiring a part-time Meat Department Associate. You will help customers, cut and package meat, and keep the department clean and organized.

You will ensure product quality, assist with inventory, display and price items, and follow food safety guidelines. Prior meat dept experience is a plus; high school diploma preferred; must be at least 18.

Qualifications

  • Minimum age 18 years.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous meat department/butcher shop experience is a plus.
  • Knowledge of meat cutting techniques and equipment is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Good communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Physical ability to stand, lift and handle meat products.
  • Food handler’s certification preferable.

All benefits are subject to enrollment of eligibility and plan provisions.The Meat Department Associate is responsible for ensuring the meat department operates smoothly by providing excellent customer service, maintaining high standards of product quality and presentation, and assisting with inventory management. This role involves cutting, trimming, and packaging meat products, as well as maintaining a clean and sanitary work environment.Key Responsibilities:Assist customers with inquiries, product selection, and special orders.Provide information on meat products, including cooking methods, recipes, and storage.Address and resolve customer concerns in a friendly and professional manner.Package, weigh, and label meat products for display and sale.Ensure all products meet quality and freshness standards.Maintain inventory levels by monitoring stock and replenishing as needed.Rotate products to ensure freshness and reduce waste.Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines, including proper handling, storage, and disposal of meat products.Clean and sanitize work areas, equipment, and tools regularly.Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures to prevent accidents and injuries.Arrange and display meat products in an attractive and organized manner.Assist with the creation and execution of seasonal and promotional displays.Monitor and maintain proper signage and pricing for all products.Minimum of 18 years of ageHigh school diploma or equivalent preferred.Previous experience in a meat department, butcher shop, or similar environment is a plus.Knowledge of meat cutting techniques and equipment a plus.Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.Good communication and customer service skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Physical ability to perform tasks that involve standing, lifting, and handling meat products.Food handler’s certification preferable.Work Environment:This position involves working in a grocery store environment, which may include exposure to wet and cold temperatures, and handling raw meat.The role requires the ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods, as well as lifting and carrying objects up to [weight limit, e.g., 50 pounds].
