Job summary

The Fresh Market is seeking a Meat and Seafood Manager in Bedminster Township, NJ. You will lead the department, direct team members, manage inventory and pricing integrity, and drive operational excellence in a fast-paced retail setting.

You will supervise training, ensure product quality, and coach staff to deliver exceptional guest service while maintaining TFMA certifications and standard procedures.

Qualifications

• 3 years of management experience in grocery retail, restaurant, meat cutting and/or culinary experience.
• Ability to read planograms, layouts, and department schematics for merchandising.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Must be at least 18 years old.

Responsibilities

• Direct teams in meat and seafood department to ensure quality product levels and pricing integrity.
• Greet guests and provide accurate, timely service.
• Handle, slice and prepare department meats and seafood throughout the day.
• Manage order guides, deadlines, shrink and stock replenishment.
• Coach and train team members on-the-job and via training platform.
• Ensure staff certifications for Assistant Meat Managers and Meat Cutters.

About The Position

As the Meat and Seafood Manager, you are taking the lead in directing team members, managing department inventory, pricing integrity and other operational processes that require significant attention to detail. This is a fast-paced position that requires efficiency and effectiveness and a passion for excellence to drive results.

The pay range for this position is $23.04 - $28.80 per hour.

What You'll Do

• Greet guests and proactively assist them in a friendly manner with accurate and timely service


• Handle, slice, expertly cut and trim a variety of the department's prime and premium meat and seafood products, and items for our convenient meal solutions throughout the day, while also managing quality product levels as indicated within TFM standards


• Making recommendations and accommodating requests


• Managing order guides/ordering deadlines/reducing shrink/damage


• Properly receiving/stocking of goods that follow rotation standards when replenishing product levels.


• Direct teams to handle, slice and prepare a variety of specialty meat, seafood, and Convenient Meal Solutions throughout the day.


• Engage, motivate, coach, and train team members “on-the-job” as well as through The Fresh Market’s internal training platform to provide excellent guest service in a safe and secure manner


• Ensure the training and certification of all Assistant Meat Managers and Meat Cutters.

Availability

This position requires the willingness to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, days, evenings, and holidays.

Qualifications

CERTIFICATIONS

All The Fresh Market Meat-Seafood Managers must be certified within TFMA within 90 days of hire.

At a Minimum, What You'll Need
