Job summary

The Fresh Market is seeking a Meat and Seafood Manager to lead the department, direct team members, manage inventory, pricing integrity and other operational tasks. This fast-paced role requires attention to detail and a passion for excellence to drive results.

You will greet guests, slice and prepare prime meat and seafood, manage order guides, and train staff on safety and TFMA standards. Weekend availability is required.

Qualifications

• 3 years of management experience in grocery retail, restaurant, meat cutting and/or culinary experience.
• Ability to read, understand and follow planograms and layouts.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Must be at least 18 years old.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests and provide accurate, timely service.
• Handle, slice and trim meat and seafood products while maintaining quality.
• Make recommendations and accommodate requests.
• Manage order guides, deadlines, and shrink/damage.
• Receive and stock goods with proper rotation and replenishment.
• Direct teams in meat prep and prepared meal solutions.
• Coach and train team members and ensure safety and training standards.

About The Position

As the Meat and Seafood Manager, you are taking the lead in directing team members, managing department inventory, pricing integrity and other operational processes that require significant attention to detail. This is a fast-paced position that requires efficiency and effectiveness and a passion for excellence to drive results.

The pay range for this position is $23.04 - $28.80 per hour.

What You’ll Do

• Greet guests and proactively assist them in a friendly manner with accurate and timely service
• Handle, slice, expertly cut and trim a variety of the department’s prime and premium meat and seafood products, and items for our convenient meal solutions throughout the day, while also managing quality product levels as indicated within TFM standards
• Making recommendations and accommodating requests
• Managing order guides/ordering deadlines/reducing shrink/damage
• Properly receiving/stocking of goods that follow rotation standards when replenishing product levels.
• Direct teams to handle, slice and prepare a variety of specialty meat, seafood, and Convenient Meal Solutions throughout the day.
• Engage, motivate, coach, and train team members “on-the-job” as well as through The Fresh Market’s internal training platform to provide excellent guest service in a safe and secure manner
• Ensure the training and certification of all Assistant Meat Managers and Meat Cutters.

Availability:

This position requires the willingness to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, days, evenings, and holidays.

CERTIFICATIONS

All The Fresh Market Meat-Seafood Managers must be certified within TFMA within 90 days of hire.

At a Minimum, What You’ll Need

• 3 years of management experience in grocery retail, restaurant, meat cutting and/or culinary experience
• Ability to read, understand and follow planograms, layouts, and schematics of the department for merchandising
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Must be at least 18 years old
