Job summary

ONEOK is seeking a Senior Measurement Technician to support the NGGP segment in Watford City, ND. This role focuses on startup, commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting of analytical and measurement equipment to ensure safe, reliable plant and field operations.

You will work with operations and technical teams to improve data quality, perform preventive maintenance, and assist during turnarounds and critical maintenance events.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years of experience in the energy field with measurement equipment.
• 2-4 years Gas/Liquid Chromatograph experience.
• Experience with Sample Conditioning Systems (preferred).
• Experience with Daniels, Siemens, and ABB gas chromatographs (preferred).
• Experience with Spectra Sensors (preferred).
• Experience in process operation or process control (preferred).

JOB SUMMARY

ONEOK is seeking a Senior Measurement Technician to support the Natural Gas Gathering and Processing (NGGP) segment in Watford City, ND. This individual is responsible for the startup, commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting of analytical and measurement equipment that supports safe and efficient plant and field operations. This role works closely with operations and technical teams to ensure the accuracy and reliability of process analyzers, gas and liquid chromatographs, and measurement systems. Key responsibilities include performing preventive maintenance, resolving equipment and process issues, supporting analytical testing and method development, improving data quality, and assisting during plant turnarounds and critical maintenance events. The ideal candidate will have experience working with analytical instrumentation in the energy industry, strong troubleshooting skills, and a commitment to safety, operational excellence, and continuous improvement. This position includes a $1,500 monthly geographic allowance in addition to the base pay. KEY Functions and Responsibilities

• Promote and ensure safe laboratory and field operations by adhering to and advising on chemical handling and safety best practices.
• Support production by monitoring processes, troubleshooting issues, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive operational improvements.
• Enhance and maintain process analytical tools and techniques to improve data accuracy and reliability.
• Provide analytical support for plant and field operations, including method development, troubleshooting, and managing outsourced sample analysis.
• Perform non-routine and specialized analyses to support business needs and evaluate process unit performance.
• Conduct statistical evaluations of proposed specifications and document findings in collaboration with technical teams.
• Recommend updates to standard operating procedures (SOPs) as needed.
• Support efforts during plant turnarounds and critical maintenance activities.

KEY Work Experience

• 2-4 years experience in the energy field working with measurement equipment.
• 2-4 years Gas/Liquid Chromatograph experience.
• Experience and working knowledge of Sample Conditioning Systems, preferred.
• Experience with Daniels, Siemens, and ABB gas chromatographs, preferred.
• Experience with Spectra Sensors, preferred.
• Experience in process operation or process control, preferred.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

• Install, test, calibrate, repair, and maintain orifice, positive, Coriolis, Ultrasonic, mass flow, and dry flow meters, regulator settings, telemetering systems, electronic flow computers, odorant systems, and relief valves (as specified by position).
• Perform measurement, sampling, compliance, and regulation operations and maintenance at facilities.
• Calibrate and maintain test instrumentation and auxiliary equipment.
• Drive and ensure maintenance of company vehicle.
• Effective interaction with corporate measurement personnel and adherence to corporate measurement procedures.
• Prepare reports including but not limited to (as specified by position):
• Job orders and completion reports
• Meter and regulator installation and/or removal (Test-It)
• Equipment and operational tests, repairs, and maintenance
• DOT compliance reports
• Sample reports
• Generate batch tickets
• Witness meter calibrations per contractual obligations
• Provide advanced trouble shooting skills and root cause evaluation in dealing with measurement systems.
• Responsibilities may include Department of Transportation (DOT) covered functions, including operations, maintenance, or emergency response on a pipeline.
• Job duties also require the employee to be alert and respond immediately to dangerous or hazardous conditions, and where impaired performance, or failure to follow safety precautions, could result in serious injury or property damage.

Training and/or experience relative to: Contract Negotiation, Meter testing and installation, Regulating flow and pressure, Company and governmental operating/safety procedures, Servicing/repairing measuring station equipment, Interpretation of measurement data, Characteristics of product handled, Experience using, maintaining, and repairing tools and equipment used to regulate flow of gas, Experience in reading and interpreting maps, plats, atlas pages, dials, gauges, sample reports, drawings, procedures, correction tables, and applicable operation and safety manuals, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities.
