Maintain sample conditioning systems, including sample probes, filters, pressure regulators, flow controllers, heat-traced sample lines, and sample return systems.
Diagnose analyzer faults, sample system contamination, calibration drift, communication failures, and measurement deviations.
Perform calibration checks, zero and span adjustments, validation, and routine analyzer performance verification.
Support process analyzers used for natural gas composition, LNG quality, moisture content, heating value, sulfur content, oxygen concentration, and other critical process parameters, as applicable.
Maintain analyzer shelters, cabinets, utilities, calibration gas supplies, and associated instrumentation infrastructure.
- Custody Transfer and Fiscal Metering Systems
Maintain, calibrate, inspect, and troubleshoot custody transfer metering systems used for natural gas receipt, LNG export, and commercial measurement. Work with ultrasonic gas flow meters, orifice metering systems, Coriolis meters, and other applicable flow measurement technologies. Support ABB and other manufacturer-specific flow computers, gas chromatographs, pressure and temperature transmitters, and associated measurement instrumentation. Verify meter performance, measurement repeatability, flow computer configuration, signal integrity, and instrument calibration status. Support gas chromatograph validation and verification of gas composition, molecular weight, compressibility, heating value, and other parameters used in fiscal calculations. Perform meter proving, calibration, meter factor verification, and measurement system checks in accordance with approved procedures and applicable contractual requirements. Assist with custody transfer measurement calculations, including volume correction, energy calculations, and reconciliation of measurement discrepancies. Support LNG loading and unloading measurement systems, including applicable LNG flow meters, tank gauging, level measurement, density measurement, and associated instrumentation. Maintain accurate calibration certificates, proving records, meter configuration files, audit trails, and measurement documentation. Ensure custody transfer systems comply with applicable contractual measurement standards, company procedures, and relevant industry requirements, such as AGA, API, and GPA standards.
- Continuous Emissions Monitoring Systems (CEMS)
Perform routine inspection, preventive maintenance, calibration, troubleshooting, and repair of CEMS equipment associated with LNG facility emissions monitoring. Maintain applicable extractive or in-situ emissions monitoring systems, including sample probes, heated sample lines, sample conditioning equipment, analyzers, and calibration gas systems. Troubleshoot and maintain analyzers measuring emissions parameters such as NOx, SO₂, CO, CO₂, O₂, and other regulated components, depending on the facility's permit requirements. Perform zero, span, calibration drift, and response checks in accordance with approved procedures and applicable regulatory requirements. Support required quality assurance and quality control activities, including applicable Relative Accuracy Test Audits (RATA), cylinder gas audits, and other compliance testing. Investigate analyzer alarms, failed calibration checks, data gaps, and abnormal emissions readings. Verify the integrity of analyzer signals and data transmission to the distributed control system (DCS), plant historian, and environmental data acquisition systems. Maintain CEMS records, calibration logs, maintenance histories, and documentation required for environmental reporting and regulatory audits.
- Instrumentation, Control Systems, and Field Maintenance
Troubleshoot analog and digital instrumentation signals, including 4-20 mA, HART, Modbus, and other applicable industrial communication protocols. Inspect and maintain pressure, temperature, flow, level, and analytical instrumentation associated with LNG processing, utilities, storage, and loading systems. Support integration of analyzers and metering equipment with DCS, PLC, SCADA, flow computers, and plant monitoring systems. Read and interpret P&IDs, instrument loop diagrams, wiring diagrams, electrical schematics, instrument data sheets, and technical manuals. Conduct loop checks, signal verification, functional testing, and instrument commissioning activities. Identify recurring equipment failures, recommend corrective actions, and support root-cause analysis to improve equipment reliability. Coordinate with operations, process engineering, maintenance, electrical, automation, and metering personnel to minimize equipment downtime.
- Safety, Compliance, and Documentation
Follow LNG facility safety procedures, permit-to-work requirements, lockout/tagout (LOTO), job safety analyses, and safe work practices. Comply with hazardous-area requirements when working with electrical and analytical equipment in classified locations. Safely handle calibration gases, process samples, and analyzer utilities in accordance with site procedures. Support maintenance planning, work order execution, spare parts management, and equipment reliability programs. Maintain accurate maintenance records, calibration reports, inspection findings, instrument histories, and technical documentation in the site's computerized maintenance management system (CMMS). Participate in equipment commissioning, shutdowns, turnarounds, maintenance campaigns, and emergency response activities as assigned. Ensure all work is performed in accordance with company standards, manufacturer recommendations, applicable codes, and environmental and process safety requirements.
