Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair solar power systems used in field applications.
• Maintain accurate records of calibrations, readings, inspections, and repairs.
• Performs tank gauging, liquid sampling, and oil separation as directed.
• Ensure equipment is calibrated, verified, and safe; observe safety regulations.
• Submit timesheets timely and adhere to schedule.

Job description

The Measurement Technician is responsible for ensuring accurate, reliable, and compliant measurement of produced water volumes across our facilities, as well as supporting instrumentation, communications, and solar power systems. This individual will have the opportunity to develop into their craft with a growing organization. Compensation and level commensurate with experience. Assigned area for the qualified candidates will be based on commuting distance proximal to West, TX and Southeast New Mexico. The position is based out of Wink, TX, and reports to the Measurement Supervisor.

Perform basic instrumentation tasks, including transmitter troubleshooting, calibration, and verification

Install, calibrate, and maintain liquid measurement equipment including magnetic flow meters, Coriolis meters, turbine meters, and tank level devices

Diagnose and resolve communications issues related to measurement and control equipment (e.g., RTUs, radios, SCADA links)

Troubleshoot and repair solar power systems used in field applications.

Perform routine checks, verifications, and troubleshooting of measurement systems to ensure accuracy and regulatory compliance.

Applies training and knowledge accurately, collecting and verifying liquid measurement data from job site(s)

Maintain accurate and organized records of calibrations, meter readings, inspections, and repairs for both electronic and manual field reports.

Performs tank gauging, liquid sampling, and oil separation via centrifuge as directed by the Measurement Supervisor.

Ensures all equipment is in good operating condition, calibrated, verified, correct, and clean, including all safety and monitoring equipment appropriate to the job.

Performs all assignments mindful of safety. Utilizing proper tools, safety best practices and operating procedures.

Observes all inspectorate applicable federal, state, and safety laws and regulations.

Attends all safety and team meetings as scheduled.

Observes and reports anything that would be considered a structural or mechanical failure or issue in a timely fashion.

Properly maintains Company vehicle and all equipment issued in good, clean condition.

Follows direction given by Lead Technician and assists when called upon for meter cleaning, repairs and installations.

Assist with other duties as assigned based on company needs.

Complies with all Company policies and procedures; adheres and is compliant to safety and environmental guidelines.

Submits own timesheets timely and accurately for approval and adheres to schedule as agreed upon on the date of hire, and adjusted work schedules thereafter based on company needs.

Minimum Qualifications

High School diploma or comparable such as GED

Familiar with standard concepts and procedures as it relates to the role and industry.

Must be 18 years of age

Strong proficiency in excel and other Microsoft programs

Strong mathematical skills

Basic computer skills.

Strong troubleshooting, problem solving, and communication skills

Self-motivated, strong time management skills and attention to detail

Ability to interpret manuals, diagrams, and procedures for field equipment.

Must possess a strong commitment to our safety culture and guidelines.

Collaborate with operations and engineering staff to support reliable, safe, and efficient facility performance.

Must have a valid driver's license and be deemed insurable by the Company's insurance provider throughout employment to be able to drive a Company vehicle.

Preferred Qualifications

Energy Technology associate's degree or Instrumentation & Electrical associate's degree or comparable skill experience.

Oilfield, measurement, or instrumentation experience

Familiarity with liquid handling operations, SCADA, PLCs, or automation systems

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions

Must be able to use their hands to handle, feel, reach with hands and arms, and fine manipulation.

Must be able to talk and hear.

Must be able to drive and sit for extended periods of time.

Individual will be required to be on call at times to attend field emergencies as needed after hours.

Must be able to stand, bend, walk, kneel, climb stairs and lift over 50lbs for continuous hours.

Must be able to withstand extreme weather conditions, including but not limited to, extreme hot, cold, wind, rain, dust, snow, sleet, ice, etc. as well as wet/humid and/or dry/arid conditions.

Frequently required to use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to prevent exposure to hazardous materials.

May be exposed to H2S and other industry related chemicals.

May be subject to working in low-lit areas from time to time.

May be exposed to loud noises, occupational hazards, and/or other outdoor elements.

May encounter wildlife.
