Job Summary

AmSpec, a leading provider of ATIC (Assurance, Testing, Inspection and Certification) Services, is looking for Measurement Technicians to join our Measurement team in Jennings, LA. This team provides measurement services to the US Gulf of Mexico offshore production facilities. The Measurement Technician will support our new offshore measurement business by traveling to various offshore locations in the Gulf of Mexico and operate, calibrate, and repair customers' meters.

Job Summary

AmSpec, a leading provider of ATIC (Assurance, Testing, Inspection and Certification) Services, is looking for Measurement Technicians to join our Measurement team in Jennings, LA. This team provides measurement services to the US Gulf of Mexico offshore production facilities. The Measurement Technician will support our new offshore measurement business by traveling to various offshore locations in the Gulf of Mexico and operate, calibrate, and repair customers' meters.

Responsibilities

  • Travel to various offshore locations in the Gulf of Mexico via helicopter or boat transportation.
  • Operate calibration equipment to calibrate established customer meters, including multi-meters, handheld electronic calibration devices, and laptop calibration computers.
    • Troubleshoot any problems with equipment and ensure damaged or defective parts get repaired.
    • Lift, carry and move equipment to / from job site.
    • Align, assemble, and disassemble equipment.
    • Maintain equipment to AmSpec standards, and ensure all equipment, including personal protective equipment, is in proper working order.
    • Report all hazards or potentially hazardous situations, accidents, incidents, and injuries immediately to supervisor.
  • Obtain and record data in accordance with standards.
  • Provide to customer with technician support when requested.
  • Order parts and perform necessary repairs on location when needed.
  • Complete required paperwork and submit it to the appropriate parties accurately and on time.
  • Always maintain AmSpec Safety Standards.
  • Attend monthly Safety Meetings.
  • Perform other work as required.
Required Skills

Job Requirements:

  • High School Diploma
  • 10+ years related experience.
  • Valid Driver’s License with reliable driving record.
  • Valid TWIC Card or ability to acquire and maintain TWIC Card.
  • Ability to stay overnight at offshore locations.
  • Ability to work a 14 on 14 off rotational schedule.
  • Strong communication skills including computer literacy (emails, paperwork, and training courses online).
    • Ability to navigate Microsoft Word and Excel fluently.
  • Capability to apply common-sense to carry out simple step by step instructions.
    • Think on your feet and adapt to situations.
    • Work as part of a team.
    • Problem solving skills.
    • Highly safety conscious.
    • Highly motivated.
  • Ability to review, understand, and describe technical situations in an effective manner.
  • Ability to work in a fast pace and multi-task environment.
  • Must pass Shell Proficiency within 90 Day Period from date of hire.

WORK ENVIRONMENT / PHYSICAL ABILITIES:

While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions. Able to lift 50+ lbs.
