Job summary

Washington County Council on Aging in Hurricane, UT is seeking a dependable Meals-On-Wheels Driver to deliver nutritious meals to homebound seniors on a part-time schedule (Monday-Thursday). This role requires a valid Utah driver’s license and the ability to lift and perform essential duties safely.

• No prior experience required.
• Valid Utah Driver's License.
• Ability to communicate effectively and relate to seniors, coworkers, and supervisors.
• Ability to perform the physical duties of the position, including lifting.

Responsibilities

• Deliver meals to seniors along pre-scheduled routes.

Washington County Council on Aging is looking for a dependable, friendly, and community-minded Meals-On-Wheels Driver to help deliver nutritious meals to homebound seniors throughout our community.

What You'll Do

• Deliver meals to seniors along pre-scheduled routes
• Review daily route sheets and ensure the correct meals are delivered
• Provide friendly, respectful service to each client
• Observe clients for potential health or safety concerns and communicate concerns to your supervisor
• Assist with packaging and loading meals when needed
• Perform routine vehicle and equipment safety checks
• Maintain a clean and safe delivery vehicle
• Keep accurate route, travel, and delivery records

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED
• No previous experience required
• Valid Utah Driver's License
• Ability to communicate effectively and build positive relationships with seniors, coworkers, and supervisors
• Ability to perform the physical duties of the position, including lifting
• Basic understanding of safe vehicle operation and driving laws

A Utah State Food Handlers Permit must be obtained within two months of employment.

Candidates must also successfully complete a criminal background check and pre-employment drug test.
