Job summary

Easterseals Florida in Palatka is seeking a dependable Meal Delivery Driver for a part-time role starting at 9:00am on Mondays, delivering frozen meals to older adults in the Palatka area. The position offers a pay rate of $15.00 per hour and requires 3-4 hours per week.

You will pick up meals from the office, deliver safely to clients, and ensure respectful, professional service. A valid driver's license and the ability to lift up to 25 pounds are required.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Minimum age 21 and good driving history.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
• Ability to read and follow delivery routes and safety procedures.
• Excellent communication with seniors and staff.
• Willingness to work independently.
• No prior experience required; relevant experience welcome.

Responsibilities

• Pick up frozen meals from the designated office location.
• Safely deliver meals to seniors' homes throughout the Palatka area.
• Bring meals into clients' homes when needed and place them on a kitchen counter or other designated location.
• Follow assigned delivery routes and schedules.
• Provide friendly, courteous, and respectful service to all clients.
• Handle meals carefully to maintain food safety and quality.
• Report concerns regarding client well-being or unusual circumstances to the appropriate supervisor.
• Maintain client confidentiality and privacy.
• Follow all program policies and procedures.

A Snapshot of What You’ll Do:

• Pick up frozen meals from the designated office location

Qualifications:

• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required
• Ability to meet our approved driver qualifications in order to drive your personal vehicle, as required, for program-related needs (minimum age of 21 and good driving history)
• Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently
• Ability to communicate professionally and courteously with older adults and staff
• Ability to read and follow instructions, policies, delivery routes, and safety procedures
• Basic math, problem-solving, and organizational skills
• Comfortable entering clients' homes to place meals in designated areas when needed
• Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, climb stairs, and safely enter and exit residences
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including extreme heat
• No prior experience required; equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience will be considered
