Job summary

South Dakota Soybean Processors is seeking a Meal Loadout Operator to coordinate loading soy meal into trucks and rail cars through an automated system. Typical hours are Monday–Friday, 7am–4pm, and starting wage is $25.00 per hour.

You will perform loading duties, ensure samples are taken, bagged, sealed and tested, run safety checks, complete paperwork, and maintain sanitation standards while adhering to SQF policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Must have strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Basic math and data entry into spreadsheets are needed.
• Ability to use email and basic computer tools.

Responsibilities

• Operate meal loadout and oil loadout safely and efficiently.
• Load trucks and rail cars; ensure correct sample is taken, bagged, sealed and tested.
• Perform safety checks to keep equipment in good condition.
• Complete required paperwork for record keeping.
• Follow SDSP SQF food safety program and policies.
• Maintain sanitation standards in designated areas.
• Communicate issues to Operations Manager and help solve them.
• Train others and seek cross-training opportunities to broaden operations knowledge.

Brief Overview

The Meal Loadout Operator is responsible for coordinating the loading of soy meal into trucks and train cars through an automated system. Hours of operation for this position are generally, Monday-Friday, 7am - 4pm. Starting wage for this position is $25.00 per hour.

Primary Responsibilities

1. Perform duties required to operate meal loadout and oil loadout in a safe and efficient manner
2. Responsible for loading of trucks and rail cars without supervision ensuring that the correct sample is taken, bagged, sealed, and tested
3. Perform safety checks to maintain the equipment in a safe and efficient operating condition
4. Accurately complete necessary paperwork required in the record keeping of the meal and oil loadout operation
5. Comply with SDSP’s Safe Quality Food (SQF) food safety program and polices
6. Maintain the designated areas to SDSP sanitation standards
7. Maintain a safe, positive work attitude
8. Communicate to Operations Manager any problems that may occur and participate in problem solving
9. Constructively train other employees and seek opportunities to cross-train to ensure a broader view of operations
