Job summary

Momentum Engineering, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Technical Writer to produce and maintain complex documentation for a defense-focused program in the cybersecurity domain.

You will work independently and with a team of engineers and analysts to create user guides, manuals, SOPs, and internal documentation, ensuring accuracy and knowledge management across a fast-paced environment while supporting sensitive national security initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or Information Systems from an accredited college or university.
• 7+ years’ experience as Technical Writer.
• Active Top Secret/SCI clearance with NSA Full Scope Polygraph.
• Experience using Confluence.
• Experience creating templates for documentation.
• Background in cybersecurity is helpful but not required.

Responsibilities

• Create documentation for a technical program including user guides, reference manuals, SOPs and reports for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Create document templates as needed for efficiency.
• Own the process of routing technical documentation with the technical team for accuracy.
• Work with subject matter experts, system and software engineers, test engineers and analysts.

Job Summary

• Seeking a Technical Writer to work independently to prepare and maintain a range of highly complex documentation (to include operations and programming documentation, user guides, manuals, technical publications, procedures and methods, and internal documentation libraries)
• The ideal candidate will support key activities in defense of emerging threats in the cybersecurity domain
• The candidate will be part of a team with the common goal to prevent and eradicate threats to critical U.S. systems

Primary Responsibilities

• Create documentation for a technical program to include user guides/reference manuals/capability training materials, requirements documents, reports, standard operating procedures (SOPs), briefings etc. for consumption by both technical and non-technical audiences
• Create document templates as needed for efficiency
• Take ownership of existing documentation to ensure it is continually updated in support of an optimized workflow ensuring knowledge management
• Own the process of routing technical documentation to ensure accuracy with technical team members
• Work in close partnership with subject matter experts, system and software engineers, test engineers and analysts

Required Qualifications

• Must have active Top Secret/SCI clearance with NSA Full Scope Polygraph
• Must have a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, similar field from an accredited college or university
• Seven plus (7+) years’ experience working as a Technical Writer
• Four (4) years of additional technical writing experience may be substituted for a Bachelor's Degree
• A Master's Degree may be substituted for two (2) years of experience
• Experience using Confluence
• Experience using tools to create templates for documentation
• Background in cybersecurity is helpful but not required
• Ability to work across cross-functional teams and thrive in a fast-paced, innovative environment
