NHS Fife HSCP is seeking a Clinical Nurse Specialist to lead a ME/CFS community service across Fife. The role covers patient assessments, self-management planning, and care coordination with other NHS Fife services.

You will deliver education to general practice, support change management, and drive service redesign with strong IT-enabled processes. PVG clearance and UK right-to-work are required.

Qualifications

• CBT qualification or related experience is desirable.
• Excellent communication and teamworking skills.

• Evidence of UK ME/CFS accredited course.

Responsibilities

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Clinical Nurse Specialist to join NHS Fife HSCP as a lone Clinician providing a Fife wide community service to patients who have been given a diagnosis of ME/CFS (Myalgic Encephalopathy/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome) by their GP or Consultant. Using evidenced based best practice and working within the 4 pillars of advanced practice you will assess, manage and provide patients with individualised self- management plans, with the aim of improving quality of life and health outcomes. Patient Consultations will be via Near Me video consultation, Tel consultation, home visit and locality clinics. An important part of this role will be delivering regular education sessions to General Practice and other Clinicians across NHS Fife to increase awareness of the condition and promote best practice. You will also work closely with other NHS Fife services that support patients with aspects of their ME/CFS to coordinate patient care and improve referral pathways. You will modernise and redesign the ME/CFS service using available clinical IT systems to increase the efficiency and reduce current patient wait times. It is desirable but not essential that the successful applicant has previous experience working within a community/HSCP setting and in change management or service redesign. It is essential to this that the successful applicant has:

• 1st level Nurse Registration with the NMC
• Significant demonstrable experience working directly with patients with multiple co morbidities and ME/CFS patients within a rehabilitation environment.
• Knowledge that facilitates interpretation of blood results investigations
• Understanding of developing national health agendas relevant to ME/CFS and the wider system
• Ability to reliably and efficiently travel across Fife
• Proficient in use of Microsoft office packages including power point and excel
• Experience in managing behavior change relevant and CBT qualification.
• Demonstrate excellent communication skills
• Demonstrate the ability to work as a member of the wider Health and Social Care Team
• The ability to work autonomously using own initiative
• Excellent clinical judgment and decision making skills
• Excellent presentation skills.
• Prior achievement of UK recognised ME/ CFS accredited Course.
• You will be educated to degree level minimum with evidence of working towards MSc within a relevant clinical area.
