Job summary

Garden Gate Health Care Facility in Cheektowaga, NY is seeking an experienced MDS Lead RN to coordinate Medicare, Medicaid and PDPM reimbursement activities. The role ensures accurate MDS completion, regulatory compliance, and optimized reimbursement while educating staff.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in nursing required; BSN preferred.
• Minimum 2 years long-term care experience; 4 years preferred.
• Current RN license in NYS (unrestricted).
• Experience with MDS, PDPM, reimbursement & quality measures.
• Strong knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid/Managed Care requirements.
• Excellent time management, organization and problem-solving skills.
• Proven leadership ability to mentor and support staff.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate Medicare/Medicaid/reimbursement activities and ensure accurate MDS completion.
• Oversee MDS processes and assist with reimbursement audits and reviews.
• Educate and support facility staff on reimbursement programs and regulatory changes.
• Supervise MDS LPN activities and co-sign LPN MDS assessments as required.
• Review denials, audits and administrative records for accuracy and compliance.
• Gathers documentation for CMS audits and other reimbursement-related audits.
• Develop corrective action plans to ensure regulatory compliance and payer requirements.
