Responsibilities


In this role, you will play a key role in meeting Genesis's business objectives by ensuring appropriate reimbursement for patient care services. You will participate in the Patient Assessment Process through the completion of items on the MDS and the accompanying Care Area Assessments (CAAs).

Assist in developing individualized patient care plans, identifying patient needs, and projecting outcomes as required by Federal and State regulations.

Contribute to the nursing center's interdisciplinary Resident Assessment Instrument (RAI) process while following RAI guidelines for completion, computer encoding, and electronic transmission of the MDS.

Identify changes in patient condition in conjunction with the interdisciplinary team and coordinate scheduling and completion of assessments.

Assist with Activities of Daily Living training for new hires and through ongoing continuing education for existing staff.

Attend educational programs to stay current with RAI/Prospective Payment System regulations.

Qualifications


  • Must be a Registered Nurse licensed by the state and in good standing.
  • Previous experience in a hospital, long-term care facility, or similar healthcare setting is required.
  • Experience in completing MDSs and Care Plans is required.
  • Knowledge of general, rehabilitative, and restorative nursing practices, laws, regulations, and guidelines governing long-term care is necessary.
